Over the years we have been using a Sunlite Mortgage agent. When we started we didn’t have the best credit and our mortgage interest rates were high. I was looking for a low rate home equity loan since I am I am self employed borrower and in most cases cant prove my income to the banks when I apply for a mortgage. I have the income to make payments but getting approved on equity and not credit as not as easy as it may seem. Finally Sunlite Mortgage was able to get me a mortgage and at a rate that I liked.

I got a referral to Devon Jones, a Sunlite Mortgage Broker in Scarborough as I was thinking of filing a consumer proposal. I wanted to save my credit from getting lower. I was sick and off work for 7 months and during that time, some of my payments on my credit cards were late and I didnt want to be late also on my mortgage payment.
I didn’t have a lot of debt but I had less money coming compared to when I was working and I was beginning to have difficulty making my payments. I was planning on calling a trustee in bankruptcy to file a consumer proposal which I know would have cost me.
